This 3 semester-hour course teaches the student the basic concepts to equip them with the skills and information necessary to succeed in higher education and beyond. This course is required for all new degree-seeking students with less than 30 hours of semester credit, and highly recommended for every incoming student who has been out of school for more than three years. COURSE LEARNING LEVEL OUTCOMES
- The student will know and understand the important terminology, facts, concepts, principles, and theories of academic success.
- The student will be able to understand and demonstrate the relationship between using successful academic strategies and not using successful academic strategies.
- The student will have an understanding of various challenges of personal and professional development and be able to apply this knowledge in their lives.
- The student will be able to demonstrate the ability to research, write, and submit a logically organized writing project. This project should demonstrate the ability to communicate at the undergraduate level.
